SEGUIN POLICE DEPARTMENT

Drug Abuse Resistance Education ( D.A.R.E. ) - is a combined effort of law enforcement officers, educators, students, parents and the community to offer an education program designed to prevent substance abuse and violence by educating children to recognize and resist the pressures that influence them to experiment with alcohol, tobacco and drugs.

The Seguin Police Department D.A.R.E. program was started in 1994. DARE Officers are assigned to the program, teaching the fifth grade students. D.A.R.E. also became involved in additional activities, such as sponsoring an annual Halloween Safe House, Blue Santa Program, South Texas Youth Ambassadors' Rally, National Night Out and the Cops and Kids Picnic.

The Seguin Police Department D.A.R.E. program has taken on a new look, with a new nine-week curriculum that is scheduled thoughout the schools schedule.

If you would like a presentation for your school assembly or class, please give us a call.
