SYNOPSIS: Amber Lyn Smith was reported missing from her home by her common law husband at 7:00 a.m. Amber's common law husband was out of the house for the night and discovered Amber missing when he arrived sometime between 6:00 to 6:30 a.m. Amber last spoke to a family member at around midnight on January 28, 2006 and later to a family member of the common law husband at around 2:00 a.m. On February 8, 2006 at around 4:00 p.m., Amber was found deceased under a bridge off FM725 at Grove lane.

Death of Mikiko Kasahara
Saturday, December 14, 2002

Suspect: Unknown

SYNOPSIS: The body of Japanese student Mikiko Kasahara was found in the debris of her apartment after the fire that was set inside her apartment was extinguished. It is believed that the fire was set in an attempt to destroy evidence. The autopsy report revealed that Kasahara died as a result of homicidal violence. The investigation revealed that Kasahara hosted a party for fellow Japanese Texas Lutheran University students prior to their departure for the winter break. The party lasted throughout Friday night until the morning hours of Saturday morning, December 14, 2002. It is believed that the murder occurred sometime between 6:00AM and 9:23AM.

Death of Jacob Hatzenbuehler

Type of Offense: Fatality Hit & Run
Location: 1000 Blk. W. New Braunfels St.
Suspect: Unknown

SYNOPSIS: A passerby called police at 5:08am after seeing an unconscious person lying north of the street. He appeared to have suffered trauma to the back of the head and other possible injuries when struck by a vehicle which left the scene.
Seguin Emergency Medical Service transported the man to Guadalupe Valley Hospital and he later was transferred from GVH to Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio.
He was identified as Jacob Hatzenbuehler, 23, of the 700 block of Elley Street.
Hatzenbuehler died at 6:01pm, January 8, at BAMC.
Jacob Hatzenbuehler was on his way to work at Xerxes Corp., 2001 Proform Road. Apparently, he walked to work every morning.
