FM78 and WALNUT CREEK
TxDOT Starts FM 78 at Walnut Creek Project
The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and its contractor, Acme Bridge Company, Inc. will begin working on replacing the narrow bridge and approaches on FM 78 at Walnut Creek in Guadalupe County beginning this week.
Crews will begin setting barricades on Tuesday, December 11 to prepare to close FM 78 on Thursday, December 13. The bridge at Walnut Creek will be demolished on Friday, December 14.
Detour: Motorists traveling westbound on FM 78 will need to take US 90 ( Kingsbury St. ) to SH 46 to FM 78. Motorists traveling eastbound will need to take SH 46 to US 90 ( Kingsbury St. ) to FM 78.
Construction on the $897 thousand dollar project is expected to be completed summer 2008.
