SEGUIN MUNICIPAL COURT

GENERAL INFORMATION

 

The Seguin Municipal Court was created by the City Charter.

The Municipal Court has jurisdiction over offenses occurring within the city limits which are violations of municipal ordinances or violations of a state statute.

Municipal Court deals with offenses which are punishable by fine only.

 


 

Your signature on the ticket is not a plea of guilty.

You have the right to appear in Court and contest the charge filed against you and you have the right to a trial.

When making a court appearance, bring your copy of the ticket with you.

Payment of fines, except for juveniles, is accepted by mail.

If the person is 16 years of age or under, they must appear in Court and must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian.

Convictions for moving violations are reported to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

If you do not appear in court or make payment on or before the court date on your ticket, an additional charge may be filed against you and a warrant will be issued for your arrest.

If you want to contest a ticket, need an extension to pay or get on a payment schedule, you must appear in person in Municipal Court on or before the Tuesday of your court appearance date.
