Defensive Driving Course Information
You may be eligible to have your charge dismissed for certain motor vehicle violations by taking a Defensive Driving Class; if
You have a valid Texas Driver's license or permit,
You provide proof of liability insurance, and
You have not taken a Defensive Driving Class within the last twelve (12) months for the purpose of getting a violation dismissed, nor are you currently enrolled in such a course.
In order to request Defensive Driving by mail, you must submit the following items:
A letter in writing requesting Defensive Driving and completed affidavit. You must reference your ticket number in the letter. A copy of the request for Defensive Driving form may be printed here.
A photo copy of your proof of Texas Liability Insurance.
A photo copy of your Texas Driver's license.
A money order made payable to the City of Seguin in the appropriate amount of court fees.
At this time, the following fee is in effect:

$ 107.00 |
for all violations on tickets issued on or after 01/01/2008 |
|
$ 103.00 |
for all violations on tickets issued on or before 12/31/2007 |
If you were speeding 25 or more miles per hour over the posted limit, you are not eligible to take a Defensive Driving Class.
Your written request must be received on or before the due date shown on the ticket. Once you are approved by the Municipal Court, you will receive a confirmation letter along with further instructions for completing your requirements.
Mail your Request for Driving Safety Course, along with copies of proof of Texas Liability Insurance and Texas driver's license and money order to:
